Wear a White or Gray shirt, bring a soccer ball, and plenty of water.and sunscreen as needed.
Tryouts Location: Schumpert Park Field 3

Players should show up early to check in and stretch out. Only players should be on the field areas during tryouts. Parents should remain outside of the fence or in the upper viewing areas of the bleachers so there are no distractions for any of the players. All players will be contacted after the last day of tryout for their age group within 24 hours so that they know the results of their tryout. Coaches of age groups will contact parents directly so that everyone is kept in the loop.

Coaching Experience:
Johnny has coached various levels of soccer for over 20 years. He began his career in the Rec Soccer area and progressed into more competitive play over several seasons. His coaching experience spans across all youth ages, ranging from 4 years old to u19. He has been the Head Coach at several Competitive Clubs in the Greater East Tennessee area. Over his coaching career, he has led many of his teams to local, state, and regional tournament Championships and Finalists Awards. He currently coaches one of the top youth boys teams in the state. He also spent several years volunteering to teach young inter-city and international children how to play competitive soccer.
Other Soccer Experience:
USSF Certified Referee - Johnny has been a Certified USSF Referee for many years. He was one of the few that took the Advanced Referee course certifications in the area. He has traveled throughout the Southeast officiating mid to low-level club soccer games and tournaments. Johnny has dedicated many hours of his personal time to be a youth and adult referee mentor to aide in the continuing education of local area referees.
TSSAA Referee – Johnny has been a TSSAA (Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association) High School Referee for several years. He traveled extensively officiating Men’s and Women’s High School soccer games.
Personal:
Johnny has been married to his childhood sweetheart for over 27 years. Together, they have 3 boys. All of them were drawn to play competitive soccer, which drew him into his coach and referee roles. His oldest son, was a highly recognized award winning goal keeper and had the opportunity to compete collegiately but chose to start his career in engineering. His middle son, is currently an Elite-level goal keeper that plays competitive club soccer as well as for his local High School. His youngest, is following his brothers’ footsteps and is currently a strong competitor on his club team.
He and his family have been involved with their church for many years. Having a strong faith, and believing that the youth is our future, he has been very active in the children’s ministry for over 11 years.
Johnny, also, owns his own business. He currently works closely with many Federal, State, and local law enforcement and first responder agencies. He has worked alongside some amazing people from the Department of Justice, to FBI and TBI, as well as your local Sheriff and Police Chief. He is currently an active member of several state law enforcement associations.
